Threat of The Ashlands

Session the Seventh
Woodhollow / Waterdowns

After lengthy discussion, RAGE decides to track down Bob and query him about the thieves’ ambush. After gaining information and allies, they assault the Waterdowns en masse. Sending Spike forward to scout, he is discovered by two guild thieves, and decides to attack them. They fear for their lives, but slay the poor cactuar. In their vengeance, RAGE wipes out any thieves’ guild members from their shanty tavern as Ash Pines rips it to the ground.

Their new plan is so strike off northwest to perform recon and murder on the gnoll tribes of the Badlands. Session the Sixth
Woodhollow Local / Dyson's Delve

The party headed south to root out the gigantic spider web that was discovered on the way home. What they found was a giant dragon-scaled black widow with dragon wings! After besting it handily, they discovered the body of a farmer, who was returned to his home whereupon his wife thanked the party profusely and donated one of her eight sons, Bill, to Athena’s entourage.

Reforming at the Silver Buckle, RAGE moves once again on Dyson’s Delve, heading to the northern stairs and descending to the second level. Six goblins are purged, and a secret tomb full of skeleton guards is discovered. After their destruction, the sarcophagus is looted; inside was a Staff of the Serpent, a bronze rod of no small power.

Outside, the remainder of RAGE were approached by the local thieves’ guild with attempted robbery, until Chad laid a choking grip spell upon their leader, Fovra the Snake, and a gruesome battle was joined. The main party exited the dungeon just in time to handle cleanup duty. During the battle, Brock’s eye socket was smashed by a horse’s hoof, and Chef sustained a broken spine and is now fully paralyzed.

Session the Fifth
Dyson's Delve / Woodhollow / Havendale

Recovering Jay from a cave-in, RAGE heads into Dyson’s Delve to finish clearing out the first level. Mowing through goblin and skeleton like scythe through wheat, they fully cleared the level and established a hideout in the old goblin warrens. A magical dagger +1 “Needle” was taken to Havendale and sold for ten thousand gold pieces! Athena, Jay, and Odo reached level 2. Jonah reached level 1, but resigned from duty. On the way back to Woodhollow, a nasty spider nest was spotted in the fields…

Session the Fourth
Dyson's Delve

Only 3 core members of RAGE and their henchmen set out today. New henchmen were hired, including a rare treant cactuar. Athena challenged Clayton to a brawl, and Clayton bashed her head in good with a morning star. She suffered notable scarring. Into Dyson’s Delve they marched, straight back to the third floor, where they were set upon by three horrific ghouls. After paralyzing Clayton, a ghoul shredded Spike the Cactrot nearly to death, leaving it with notable scarring. Odo went into a rage and mutilated two ghouls, with Athena picking up the third kill.

Heading further in, the party was happened upon by five goblins. Gaining surprise, they decided to ambush, and were nearly broken for their choice. Brock suffered a chest wound and gained many new penalties. Malfignius the Firebrand was speared in the mouth and lost a tooth. With still no sign of Jay, RAGE gathered their loot and exited Dyson’s Delve, to find an ancient Ent chatting up Chase’s mule. Douglas Fir informed Athena that she was not human, and granted her a treant follower in exchange for her later solving the mystery of the Tower of Zot.

Session the Third
Dyson's Delve

After taking a year off to train, RAGE met once more in the Silver Buckle to explore the dungeon to which they have been awarded exclusive exploration rights, Dyson’s Delve. With a mixed bag of companions, a few missing faces, and a few new, RAGE headed immediately into the third level of Dyson’s Delve, where they were assaulted by tens of horrific zombies! Newcomer Rasheed was horribly mangled, losing both eyes in a gruesome zombie feeding frenzy. Rasheed retired to live a quiet life of contemplation in Woodhollow, forever casting off the shackles of his Zaharan heritage. He was replaced by Grimdark Fukbvg, the Dwarf Vaultguard.

On a second foray, Athena was snacked upon by carnivorous Robber Flies! She survived with gusto. A crypt was looted and experience was gained! Odo kicked a corpse’s skull into dust looking for extra gold coins.

Session the Second
Dyson's Delve

With a few old members sitting out, and a few new filling in, the Fishers’ Guild set out once more to explore Dyson’s Delve (but not before dumping Schlemiel at the Healer’s Hut and looting his body). Heading into a second dire rat nest and finding giant ferrets feasting on remains, the Fishers quietly backed out of the room, took another passage, and headed downstairs. Stumbling across a floor strewn with shredded rat carcasses, the group was ambushed by two fearsome ghouls! Ariana the Dwarf Executioner instantly split the skull of one ghoul, as the second tore into Odo the Dwarf Guardsman, who repelled all three attacks with ease. The ghoul, distracted by Ese’s hammer throw, was put down by a single swipe from Athena’s blade. A quick search revealed that one ghoul was dressed in rotted finery, and carried jewelry which sold for nearly 3,000 gold pieces. The Fishers quickly returned to town with their spoils. After turning over the ghouls’ heads to the magistrate, the group was given rights to explore the dungeon freely, with other groups not allowed.

After taking a year hiatus to train (and Schlemiel committing suicide), the crew attains first level in various classes, and aims to set out once more…

Session the First
Dyson's Delve

A poor, incompetent Fishermans’ Guild from the Village of Woodhollow decided to set off to adventure after a recent earthquake opened a long-forgotten or unknown cave opening. It was discovered by a hunter named Dyson, and is now referred to colloquially as “Dyson’s Delve.” The group discovered that the cave network connects to some sort of worked stone labyrinth. After running foul of a Dire Rat nest, the team fought and killed four Goblins, a race not known to frequent this area. Chestina the Gnome Assessor and Shlameel the Tailor were both critically wounded, but remain alive.
